Atascocita (pronounced: uh-task-uh-SEE-ta), is a large residential development just 2 miles south of Kingwood, and about 6 miles east of Humble. In the 1990s Atascocita was one of the fastest growing developments in Houston, and now has a population of about 36,000 people.
