It talks about the alignment of stars and planets that made up The Bethlehem Star, and what you are asking about is about what you are seeing. It is an hour long, but WELL worth the time! Call me afterwards and I will tell you about an outtake they left out that is AMAZING!!!

Do any of you have any good app recommendations for star gazing? My oldest is very interested and Santa brought him a telescope for Christmas. I've seen some apps that allow you to use your phone camera to point and identify stars and planets in the sky. There are tons of apps, but just wanted to know if you guys have recommendations.

@ MGBGuy: Stellarium Mobile gets a 4.7 out of 10M. I'd start there! We used to use one was that is now so outdated I would hardly recommend it!

I use sky tonight @MGBguy....I've used many different apps, but this one is fairly simple. You do have to calibrate it every so often but that's simple too. I use it to teach my kiddos what they should see when they are looking up in the sky. If that makes sense. It's pretty cool because it fills out the constellation as a translucent image so the constellation looks real. Best of luck!

Thank you sweet friend @Kittle! I did a little research and Venus and Jupiter will continue to get closer to one another through March 1st...on the 1st they will be 39 arcminutes apart (but I don't think we will see it because that is supposed to occur at 1845 UT which would be 1245 here in TX....however we will stillbe able to see their closeness at twilight).

We missed seeing Neptune (the dimmest) and Venus (The Brightest) planets together on the 15th....they were just 20 arcminutes apart.
