@kingwoodeagle : We drove down there this afternoon and the park was closed with water over the road. I'm hoping nothing goes wrong with the Conroe release. I don't think KW will have flooded homes as long as Conroe does not release water too fast.

@kingwoodeagle : You should go look at the river where Sharky's is located. It is really high but would have to get much higher to be a problem for that area.

Just saying - Lake Conroe and Lake Houston's levels are both lowered when weather forecasters predict large amounts of rain but apparently the lowering needs to be done sooner or be more severe.

Lake Conroe was not lowered prior to this event. I believe the lake was at pool 201/ and after the rain 203 thus the higher release rates. Lake Houston did begin lowering in anticipation of the expected heavy rains.
