So happy another space will be occupied ! I love to support a new business! A pet area would be wonderful , hopefully the center will change their mind !

What about the huge commercial space in that corner?

Is that the old HEB some mention?
It's been "for lease" for quite some time now.

@DDV1218 : I wish just about anything would go in that building. It would be a great site for some family friendly indoor playscape or center with putt putt, video games, bowling and stuff..like a Dave and Busters kind of place.

Nothing has been announced however they have recently recommenced demolition of that area

Maybe set up an outdoor patio with umbrellas in the parking area and a bar/ice house where the shoe shop was and a pet court yard ?

@billcherie2 : That's such a good idea and I don't see why they don't do it. That parking lot is only ever like 10% full so there's plenty of space. You go to Europe and it's the norm for small restaurants to have a huge outdoor seating area spilling out into the sidewalk. Even with heaters in the winter. Sure it's a parking lot but throw out some nice tables and some potted palms or something and it'd be such an improvement over the dull strip malls where obviously nobody wants to spend time.
