Tropical depression #9 Tropical update on what will be either Hurricane Hermione or Ian. A low near Africa, that will not affect the states, is trying to officially form before TD #9, so the name on this is still undecided. *This storm WILL NOT affect Texas.* The trough on the east coast now clearly shows it will push this storm into the EASTERN Gulf, away from Texas, extreme western Cuba and into SW Florida on Wednesday. It is forecasted to become a major category 3 hurricane at landfall. Cuba is not going to affect this storm much so no help there. Ruger5

@StormChaser : Anything else on the horizon out thar? Im losing hope BUT I've seen late season storms crop up. Although Texas has only seen two hurricanes hit it shores in October between 1900 and 2000.
Louisiana on the other has had ELEVEN Oct. hits. From 1964-2002 I think.

What is it about Louisiana? ðŸ˜’ðŸ˜’

@cbear : I have 3 cats. I could tell you all the things that are being destroyed but I do not want anyone to think poorly of cats.

@Ruger5 : Hush! I've got a very needed, hard earned vacay coming up in Oct. I don't travel during Hurricane season and I try to do it at the very beginning and very end of the season.

As it is I'm already worried about friends in FL and what could happen to my beloved Clearwater Beach.

I am so sad for West Coast FL esp but the whole state is going to get hit. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I'm so tired of hurricanes , the devastation, loss of life and the cost ( esp to us tax payers).
I got the vapors just watching the lines of people waiting to get supplies at the stores. That's why I prep. Now that the season is almost over - I'm going to go through my water supply and start getting rid of old water ( my gardens will like that) and start replenishing it in prep for any winter storms and next years hurricane season

We have a close friend in Ft Meyers. They live just a bit inland at a townhouse complex with their boat just out their front door. I sooo feel for them.
