Oh, man. Got up, moved the kiddo, checked the radar, called family, and then made coffee.

I forgot that last step during the last storm, and we lost power before the coffee was made. I learned.

Y'all be careful!!

@terilyntx: Get yourself a French press. If you have a gas cooktop, even if the power goes out, you can still make coffee! I think they run around $20 and you can use them for camping, tailgates, etc. We've used ours many times. It got a lot of use after Hurricane Ike!

I really need to go ahead and buy one. I've thought about it, but I've never used one, so I don't know what brand/type I would like. Probably some Mother's Day deals going on now, though - so I need to check them out.

I laugh at a tornado. All you have to do is run in the opposite direction when it hits you! Cancels it out.

@POTUS: Wrong!
You should be watching it in a lawn chair with a beer in your hand like the Okies do it. 4951

I grew up in Florida with lots of tornadoes. If i hear an alert i go staight to the radar. No hook, then i dont get too excited i just monitor. I was concerned about then one heading right for us but then it just got absorbed again so no worries. 4951

You should turn on channel 2. They showed te radar frpm this morning and it was quite spectacular. 4951
