I had to stop in a neighborhood to take a Teams call after getting delayed in traffic, so I couldn't make it to the office in time. I needed to look at the screen during the call, so I couldn't take it while driving. An old guy approached me and (interrupted me while I was talking) and demanded I had to move. I paused the call and explained as well as I could that I had to stop for a call. He didn't seem to understand what a video call is. He stood on his porch for half an hour. I may or may not have flipped the bird when I left.

A lot of people are doing/receiving deliveries and if im outside i may or may not ask if they are looking for an address. Other than that, if they arent doing anything illegal its none of my business.

@luv2eatsushi : If they are sitting in front of my house long enough for me to notice it and then notice it again, its time to move along. There are lots of parking lots they can go it in and draw no attention. With crime being what it is, I'm going to watch my AO and challenge people who loiter when they have no reason to be here.

@1836 : That has never happened here once is 20+ years. But, it depends on if they make a move towards me or not. If not, I'll stand there near them and call the police. If they get mouthy and get out the car maybe they'll eat a mouthful of bear spray.

loitering involves their being On private property ( the street curb is not that), or in a 'posted' area, which explicitly states that No Loitering is allowed; again on Private Property, such as a Quick Stop/ 7/11 store establishment. you are actually impeding Their rights, when you approach them. Do so all you please, but if they feel threatened, your 'platform' might not heal their response. Again: Safety First. Call the NON emergency line,and LEO will respond asap. It Will triage low on their squad screen, as it IS without harm or incident. Be patient.
