Suspect Arrested for Road Rage Shooting in New Caney

Road Rage Shooting on 12/10/23 Update: Suspect In Custody
Update to original Media Release on 12/10/23:
After many man-hours were poured into the investigation and multiple interviews, Pct. 4 Constable Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a New Caney 18 Year old resident Sergio Anselmo Soto Jr.
On 01/10/2024 at approximately 01:30pm, Pct. 4 Deputies took Sergio into custody on the warrant and has since been booked into Montgomery County Jail.
Constable Hayden would like to thank the Patton Village Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.

Original Press Release from 12/9/23:
Just before 9:30PM on 12/9/2023 calls came into the Montgomery County Dispatch Center regarding shots fired along Highway 59 near The Grand Parkway in New Caney, TX. Deputies from Constable Kenneth “Rowdy†Hayden’s Office immediately responded and were on scene within minutes.
Deputies located two vehicles that had driven off the roadway and into a group of trees near the intersection, one occupant of one of the vehicles suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound; the occupant was initially treated by responding law enforcement, then transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Members of the Pct. 4 Constable Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrived on scene and began processing information. Initial reports appear this began as a road rage incident. This is an ongoing investigation.
