I was told the spark plugs needed to be changed every 15,000 miles.
@21clamer : Hadn't heard that...15,000???... unless it was a 1950 Ford dumptruck then maybe.
The modern engines burn so clean I would envision changing plugs maybe every 100,000 miles, just one opinion.
On a sidenote, if you can do the work yourself then you may save some money. I was recently quoted $180/hour (about 1.5 hours for the job) from one of the local auto fixit places to change 4 shocks on my vehicle. I already had the shocks, they quoted labor. I went to another fixit place locally and they told me around $250 labor, then maybe they could do for $200. I declined, went home, spent about 1.5 hours (no power tools) and did it myself...easy and simple with WD-40. Didn't even have to remove the wheels as older truck that sits up pretty high. It was HOT outside though, sweated off my John Brown, but the money I saved went into a couple ice cold margaritas. Not everything is easy to do yourself so be cautious in your decision to do yourself. I've worked on vehicles from 50+ years so I usually do it unless I get a reasonable price or the job is simple.
