Beryl - Live updates - 5:20am wind readings

Live radar at 220AM

Northern edge of the eyewall is just starting to make landfall south of Bay City & West of Freeport.

As you can see, the western side of Houston is definitely going to have the greatest impacts but we'll all see tropical storm force winds (34 mph and up) with gusts likely at or near hurricane force which is 74mph.

This line to our south is going to be ugly. Reports of winds from 30 to 60 mph with gusts to 70 so heads up!

This will likely cause electricity issued unfortunately.

It will be another 1-2 hours maybe before it reaches us.

The line south of that will be stronger. That will arrive early this morning.

Between now (or when that first line gets here) to around noon looks to be the worst as far as timing goes for us here with high winds.

4:05AM LANDFALL

*Beryl has made landfall near East Matagorda as a category 1 hurricane with 80 mph winds.

*Conditions will begin to worsen across the Houston metro area as it comes north. Matt has our latest:

âš ï¸ Sustained winds & gusts are picking up in our area as the eye has made landfall as of 4am south of Bay City.

âš ï¸ The line I pointed out is going to be ugly -

ðŸŒ€ 2-4" rainfall rates per hour - that's A LOT. It only takes 2" an hour to cause street flooding & it's not exactly moving at full speed.

ðŸŒ€ 50mph winds with 70mph gusts.

ðŸŒªï¸ Possible tornado & flood warnings.

Our neighbor is a bailiff at the courthouse downtown and he HAD to report. He just got down there and said the roads are starting to get worse now!

@StormChaser : I feel like that's all weather reports are; speculation and *****ing... until something more solid happens. There are way too many factors that come into play.
