Smart door locks

Any of y'all have them? Would obviously prefer one with a key pad and a key hole.

Brands that are better or more dependable than the rest?

@Brat : We do not have one but our vacation rental last year had one. It was very nice knowing the code had been changed and no one but us had the code for the time we were staying there. I kinda have a love/hate relationship with them. It would be nice to be able to lock the doors from a distance or unlock for someone who needed to go in and feed the pets or water the plants. But on the other hand can they be hacked?

@Brat : personally, I do not like them. They're a PIA when the batteries are low, at least the one at DD house is. And for some reason, at the least opportune time (when you're in a rush to get to the bathroom) it gets contrary! I prefer the old fashion key.

@Brat : I went on a cruise and the door knew when I was in front of it and automatically unlocked. I thought that was kind of cool. I see all cruise lines using this in the near future. Not sure I want this for my home though.

We have one on our detached garage and I wouldn't be without it. At night when locking up to go to bed, I don't have to go outside to check the lock, I have an indication inside the house if it's locked or not, and if not I can lock it from right there. Never had a problem with it in the 9 years I have had it.

EDIT: This is the one we have. It's completely trouble free. Uses 4 AA batteries and they last about a year. It'll let you know far in advance of them dying that it's time to change the batteries by beeping when you use it.
