School threat update 5PM Update: Today 1/9/23 at approximately 11:00 AM, MISD staff and the Precinct 5 Constables Office received information of a possible threat at Bear Branch Junior High. Precinct 5 and the school district worked quickly to investigate the threat and as a result, one juvenile female is in custody for Threatening to Exhibit a Firearm, a class A misdemeanor. The juvenile was not in possession of any weapons at the time of the threat but these types of threats are investigated quickly and do have severe consequences. MISD and the Precinct 5 Constables Office have shelter-in-place procedures for credible threats, several Precinct 5 Deputies along with Constable Chris Jones remained on campus during the investigation for extra security, and at no time was there a lockdown or shelter-in-place initiated. The Precinct 5 Constables Office will continue to work closely with the Magnolia Independent School District to ensure the safety of all students and staff
