RaggedyAnn : If we stay home this weekend, we are going there! I love everything seafood except cooked oysters. I can eat them raw but not cooked....weird, right?

@ladybeachbum : Very weird. I use to do raw oysters but you can get some funky results with doing that and I did a Risk reward analysis and decided to just eat them fried! 4951

@Donnawisdom : Yes, I slowed down on eating them a few years ago when some bad stuff was going around. I only eat them when I go to the Galvez Sunday brunch. They are fresh and good. I've never been sick from them but don't want to be either. I don't like them fried at all. 4951

@ladybeachbum : I am just cautious since they came out with some kind of funky skin reaction due to eating raw oysters. But everyone that loves them raw please carry on, I have enough issues without getting anymore! 4951

@Donnawisdom : I just saw this....You can get seriously ill and even die from eating raw oysters contaminated with Vibrio vulnificus - a bacterium commonly found in waters where oysters are cultivated such as the Gulf of Mexico. Vibrio vulnificus is found in higher concentrations during the summer months as water becomes warmer.
Dang, I guess I am not eating them especially in the summer unless Galvez gets them from a different source. 4951
