Is Lake Houston letting water out?

@luv2eatsushi : Yes - they started lowering Lake Houston prior to this rain event. They are monitoring it and coordinating with the SJRA on the release from Conroe. Emoticon

buffaloglenn : I was trying to look for a historical graph. I think we all started flooding at 68 and the guages stopped reading?

@e : If you go here, it shows the record levels and dates on the left-hand side next to the map.

@MsJane3 :
@buffaloglenn What say is correct. We received about 55" of rain over 5 days in hurricane Harvey. The San Jacinto river was @ 70' and was flowing over the river bridge to humble washing away the concrete dividers in the center. I live in Fosters Mill and I was 2 1/2' above the 500 year mark and only received a small amount of water ( 1/4") ln part of my house. It was a once in a life time perfect storm occurence.

What street are you on in Sandcreek. Not many houses flooded in Harvey.

@MsJane3 :
You will be fine. This controlled release won't cause any problems since they are also releasing water from Lake Houston.
