You'll have to let me know how it goes. I have two chunks from a copper mine I visited for a college course. Don't really know what to do with them. I was thinking of casting them in resin or trying to extract the copper from them but those are just daydreams.

@Coyvan : What a gorgeous rock! Does it hold that color, or will it oxidize into drabness?

A shadow box on the wall might be a good location for that chunk or for both of them, a way to enjoy seeing them while protecting them in their natural form. Do you have a photograph from that day -- or of something relevant, even a photo of your textbook for that course -- that could be enlarged and used as the background in the shadow box?

These are some rocks from Arizona and Palm Springs ha California .

@Rocklady2020 : Interesting rocks! Very nice variety. All those thin layers in the first single rock you posted -- I'm trying to imagine those layers settling into place and being compressed into that rock. Kinda boggles my mind.

@Coyvan : Oh wow yes the same . Just leave them as is . I love raw rocks .

@Rocklady2020 : Agree! I was thinking, they are his rocks and he can do whatever he decides is appropriate for them. But I was also thinking, nooooo! Don't pour resin on that beautiful raw rock!
