If any of y'all would like to help out a school that helped our very own Kingwood High School last year after Harvey, here's your chance. "Pay it forward! We all know how devastating Hurricane Harvey was for Kingwood High School and our Kingwood community. A little over a year later, Hurricane Florence crashed through the Carolina's and they are experiencing much of the same flooding as we did. Ironically enough, Oaks Road Academy in New Bern, North Carolina sent Kingwood High School supplies and gift cards this time last year to help us. Unfortunately, we have heard that their school and community has flooded and many of them are now homeless and school-less. Having said that, we would like to return the favor and help them out.We will be collecting gift cards to Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, Amazon or Master Card/Visa to send to the Principal at Oaks Road Academy. The gift card donations will be collected by the Kingwood High School PTSA in the cafeteria during One Lunch on October the 4th, 5th, 10th and 11th.In addition, J Christopher's and Performance Food Service Company has arranged a delivery truck that will be packed up on October 17th and driven across the country to Oaks Road Elementary in North Carolina. We will be collecting donated items at KHS, AHS, SCHS and Oaks Elementary School during school hours through October 12th. They are wanting us to collect school supplies, back packs, and gift cards to be donated to help the New Bern community.
