Yesterday I came rushing home from work (I work at Nordstrom in The Woodlands) because a friend texted me about the potential flooding in Forest Cove. I live on the left side of Hamblen road when coming from 59, and I am wondering what parts of Forest Cove are actually at risk for flooding? I called into work today fearing I wouldn't be able to get back home tonight but the roads still aren't flooded, do y'all think I can get to work tomorrow? 4951

Big question is are you above the hill or below? Above - no worries, below - keep an eye out. That being said... the river is expected to crest in the next 24  hours so if you live north of Hamblen you probably don't need to worry.  4951

Which hill do you mean? I live off of Hamblen past the gas station, if that helps 4951

The empty lot at Cypress Lane and Forest Cove Dr was a house.  The water was up to the roof.  Everything above that was safe.  I believe the homes on Red Bud north of Hamblen were ok too.  I think the old Forest Cove Baptist Church - which is now Northeast Christian Academy - was either flooded or the roads made it impossible to get to. 4951

You mean by the furniture store? This is nothing compared with the 1994 flood, so I really don't know. It may depend how far down Savell past Sorters-McLellan you live. 4951

Hope they're slowly & continually emptying Lake Conroe so not to flood those along the San Jacinto during this weekends forecasted storms!  4951

There is a whole line of new storms heading this way, if they hold together. The Fox weather man seemed surprised by it 4951

@mom82:
The fox weather man seemed surprised about the storms or surprised if they hold together?

In the biggest floods in the past, did the water ever get up to Masters Way? 4951

@HollyHobby:

I am no expert but I feel like the floods would have to be exceptional to get that far!
