Aww. They are real comedians! Maybe one will swim to my lake! ðŸ¤ž. One has been here several times when the water is up from the rain and run off headed to Lake Houston.

Hard to really tell from that picture but I believe that is a Nutria. They are highly populated in this area and often mistaken for otters. Although , otters HAVE been spotted in the eastern part of Texas.

@Theoldman : This was my first thought. It's whiskers do look more like an otter though in the pic.

Funny story...I was at the Houston arboretum and a nutria had crawled out of their pond onto the grass. Dozens of people, many foreign, ooohed and aaahed at it. They gathered round and took pictures.
