Suspect Arrested In Humble Murder Case

UPDATE 12/7/18:

Police have arrested 23-year-old Zacchaeus Archie (Houston) for the murder of Tadarius Vaughn. Vaughn's body was found in a car in the parking lot of the Colony of Humble Apartments at 831 Wilson Road on November 29 (original story below).

Archie has been charged with Capital Murder and is being held without bond.

Humble Police Detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found fatally shot in a parked car Thursday night.

A "shots fired" call came into 9-1-1 after 10 PM on Thursday, November 29. Humble Police patrol units were dispatched to the Colony of Humble Apartments at 831 Wilson Rd. Once on the scene, officers found an unresponsive male in a vehicle.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident or those responsible is asked to call Detective Scott with Humble PD at 281 319 9717.

That is a horrible part of town. Humble has shifted from the quiet safe place we moved to over 30 years ago. 4951

I would consider that area a dangerous part of Humble. One to avoid at night. 4951

@OeeO : In a prior iteration of their band, my two oldest sons opened for Afroman at a warehouse party in St Louis. They're used to playing everything from the coffee house to Wakarusa Music Fest to SXSW and they said that this show was by far the worst run and had the sketchiest crowd they've ever seen. They got jobbed on the cash but figured leaving with all of their gear and lives was payment enough. Definitely a lesson learned for them. 4951

@jax : There is another location on Atascocita Rd., next to Culvers in the strip center next to Marsala's. Much better location on the edge of Eagle Springs. 4951

I don't think any place in Humble is safe at night anymore and I think going there in the daytime is pushing it now. 4951

Titas Tacos isn't even open at night.

I work right around the corner during the day. I think day is fine once you get north of the apartments, but at night, I won't hang around. 4951

Back in the old days before I got married and moved to Atascocita I used to do my laundry near this place and their lunches are allright and reasonably priced. 4951
