My now 10th grader learned next to nothing the last quarter, and my son who graduated refused to take the calculus AP b/c he felt unprepared. Just don't need an entire 6 weeks wasted.

@Derns : This is why I am choosing to start in person and online Sept. 8th. I do not want to have to try to navigate the beginning of the school year online. I am sure teachers have, or will have plans in place, but I feel they got nothing from the end of last school year. I would rather just hold off until they can go back in person. Who cares about the October and February breaks; before last year they never had those anyway. 4951

This is straight up garbage. There is no way the kids going into most AP classes can do those online. Not if this past Spring is any indication of the level of teaching that was not given. Not blaming the teachers, it was a sudden thing and there is no way they could have gotten prepared that fast for an entirely different way to teach. There is just no denying it was not effective. So once again, kids needing in class instruction so they can preform optimally on the PSAT, the SAT and ACT get screwed over. There is a lot riding on these tests. People that do not have the fore thought to know this should not be making decisions. Cough cough, pos Hildago.

@Fallon : Well, the SAT and the ACT aren't even required for right now. But yea. This whole thing is garbage, and Hidalgo definitely is a pos. 4951
