I just rented a place in Florida for a late summer vacation. So I vote September 8th. If online starts before then, don't really care. I'm thinking I will hold them out until school in in person.
We can do our jobs from anywhere, no reason to stay around Kingwood. 4951

@Derns : My son took 7 AP exams and did not do as well as he could have. As you know, they shortened the test to 45 minutes, so he did not finish his calculus test. He was very disappointed. 4951

Im not happy about this ( child goes to Woodland Hills).

Sending them back would have demonstrated herd immunity in about 30 days, then the state and govt will be in a sling with all the lawsuits from businesses they ruined and livelihoods that were lost due to this over reaction. And I get real frustrated with people who have not suffered income loss, WHATSOEVER, making what is ultimately a financial decision on parents behalf. I mean come on, we stood by and took it this year and now they are forcing us to do it again. I thought this was a free country ******!! And I also agree the survey is pointless. 4951

I feel like they screwed the survey up. There should have been a preliminary question asking if you were planning on home schooling or attending class. Then they could get rid of the 30% that wanted home school anyway. If we are being all caring, please vote to start school later (no online) for the high number of two income families. Not sure why they can't add 30 minutes to the school day and make up the time missed either.

@gocubsgo :
The survey was for employees 4951

I have a Junior and a Senior this year, so we choose the August 25 start. IF (big if when dealing with Lina). My sons learned/did next to nothing after things went online last school year. I figured first couple weeks of school is getting syllabus and review and what not, they can do that online and when school starts on Sep 8 (hopefully) then they still have a "normal" school calendar circa 19XX-2018 when they started late August and only had Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Breaks. They still have the late arrivals (they love that) and get out normally.

I think if it's decided to postpone in school longer, than Sep 8 and classes have already started, it's a disadvantage for the kids. But starting Sep 8 and they loose late arrival and go until June isn't fair to them either because it leaves no cushion for operational minutes if something else such as Inclement Weather or political unrest happens later in the year then days have to be added into the summer.

Our train of thought anyway...hope it made sense... 4951
