My personal story:
I ran away from home when I was a teenager.
My father was an abusive alcoholic and my mother was a crazy narcissist that encouraged abuse.
To be honest, I ran away because there was no way out of the hell.
When possible I lived with friends. Other times I lived in the woods of Sherwood trails.
From time to time my family would find me and make me go back home.
The same thing happened - my father beat me while my mother watched.
Finally, I got smarter and ran away for good!

@Touche :
I left when I was 14. Mom let cops drag me back. I learned stealth movements, survival skills, and learned to get outta state. By the time she got a call asking for permission to treat me I was nearly 17. She refused until they told her where I was. The emergency room doctors stood up as witness to my emancipation. They told him, as she sat over a trash can bleeding out from a tubal pregnancy, my mother kept refusing treatment until she got my address. She finally said fine. As the judge put it, I was nearly 17, gone for almost 3 years, working two jobs and getting into no trouble. At 16 in New York I was an adult. If I crossed state lines, I would now be recognized as an adult.
This crap parents tell themselves that their kid ran because they didn't want to do chores is a crock of ****.
Btw on my mother's death bed, she asked to see him and never spoke a word. Many things happened between those years and today. Still have zero contact. I tried, thinking my siblings maturity leveled out. Omg I was so wrong. I hadn't spoken to them in 30 years and I'll never ever do that to myself again.

@TEXASGIRLMAMMA :
There isn't much I can't do, improvise, etc. I may have walked away from those unhealthy people, but I didn't stop learning. Lol, I used to go to school with my friends. We'd go to the principals office and say I was a cousin from out of town. I wanted to see what her school day was like. I made a promise not to disturb her classes. It kept me off the street during school hours. Of course it was a week or two then found another district.
I'd been building huts in the woods since we were little. Lol our mom's knew where there pretty curtains went. Cooking came natural, it's in my DNA. I'd bathe in the ponds and yes, bang my clothes on rocks by the river.
Not saying everything was roses, there were a few pricks to contend with. They didn't nick name me the ice princess because I was all warm and fuzzy.
Over the last two decades my dh had melted my heart. He has decided to freeze it back up. I'm older now, give a **** tons less about people in general. I'm not looking to impress, for friends, or even to have any relationship. Just So sick of stupid.

@teatime : He is truly missing, there is proof that was sent to Austin's sister that he was takin to Dallas with 2 other boys. I'm not sure why there hasn't been an amber alert posted yet. They have contacted them and the Dallas police has been contacted as well.

@Emmybrook01 : I very much hope the young man is found soon. The signs that a loved one posted for Austin have been removed (in my area).

Ali Lowitzer was on TV this morning. I hate hearing about kids gone missing.

@e : We did a charity auction for her family years ago. Not knowing is the worst....

I worked with Ali's father years ago. This was such a heart-wrenching situation to see the family go through, and it still saddens me that she hasn't been found. Thoughts and prayers for the Lowitzer family and all other families facing this same sad situation.

Just copied this from the FB post:
It is with great joy and praise I get to tell you
AUSTIN IS HOME!
Thank you is not enough- you all have had us in prayer, when we could not pray, comforting us when we broke, spies to lay eyes on him, or the poor boys who looked like him, shown us true love and tirelessly looking. Watching him sleep is the best feeling in the world! I love you all 💕
