Major flooding in Dallas Downtown Dallas has major problems this morning. I-30, I-35 and I-45 are all closed with 4-6 feet of water on them and water rescues on the interstates have been going on since 3am. People have been stuck behind the flooded roads for hours with nowhere to go. They received 6-8 inches in less than 5 hours (Some areas got that in 3 hours) and its still raining with more to come. The area known as The Canyon has all these interstates going downhill a bit and that's a lot of what's flooded but even Downtown itself has major issues and some buildings have water in them. It is still raining with heavy rainfall in the forecast all day today and every day this week. Reminds me of Houston. Water rescues on I35

@StormChaser : All those freeways and connections down in a bowl are a bad design, and I don't think Dallas has pumps at the ready to get the water out fast. Which isn't surprising given Dallas doesn't typically get the flooding rains like southeast Texas.

@StormChaser : Is this going to continue until tomorrow? My nephew is driving into Dallas after work tomorrow so that'll be about 5 o'clock. He's going to be there for his call of duty tournament this weekend. I'm hoping it's going to drain and the flooding water moves out

I lived in Dallas for 28 years and never saw anything like that. We lived on a hill just east of White Rock Lake so we never gave a thought to flooding. Going to have to check in with our friends this morning.
