@ctl74 : Get a lawyer, file first, protect your custody rights, get all financial records so your accounts don't get drained, ask your lawyer how to boot him out of the house. You know his intentions, so you take charge of the situation.
@ctl74 : Call a lawyer ASAP. Guess by now ya'll have talked this to death so time to set him free. No sense in fighting anymore. With time apart, he may decide he wants to return. Up to you. I am sorry this happened to you. Being on Christmas makes it even sadder.
Last Christmas I was told, today, that it's our last Christmas together. I admit to having my challenges. He refuses to acknowledge /adjust to his. Merry freaking Christmas!
@ctl74 : What a guy! There is someone out there that is much better suited for you. Make your plan and get away ASAP. Be sure to take everything you can including the money.

@ctl74 : File for divorce, first one ends up with the better deal! Change your name during the divorce it is much cheaper Get the kids cell phones so you do not have to talk to him Make him move otherwise you will be abandoning the house

@ctl74: What an inconsiderate jerk! Tell him, "There's the door. Don't let it hit you in the ***. Giddy Up!" It's his choice. Not yours. Don't leave your home. It will be hard for a while… but you will realize he hasn't been there for a while. Sending prayers.

@Carol888 : This is really a misnomer. Some people don't file first simply because they don't want to pay the filing fee. The only difference between filing first and not filing first is the filer is called the Petitioner and the responding party is called the Respondent.
If they are raising children together, they will have to communicate. It's called co-parenting. Kids should not be the go between for separated parents. Judges hate this as well. Hence, why many require parenting classes prior to finalization of a divorce.

@ctl74 : I don't know you or your age, but I have dealt with similar situations. Mine I think was a midlife crisis. Only I was the fighter. He had a work girlfriend. He didn't see that she was trying to break us up. He drove her to and from work. She called him with her problems. He said he was just helping a friend. Visited and did things for her when she was in the hospital. Went on for about a year. I threatened to end things. Then he retired and all contact ended. Earlier in our marriage when I found out I was pregnant he stayed out all night one night. I found him at work the next day and he said whe was not ready to be a father. I told him not to come home. He did and accepted things. He and our daughter are very close. We have had our ups and downs but talking or yelling things out we ultimately work it out. We have been married 51 years and have never been closer. I wish you strength and courage.
@ctl74 : I don't know you but you are most likely better off without him. We all have challenges. Some are daily and some are multiple times a day and some are not as frequent. Our partners are no good to us if either they or yourself can't go with the flow of these troubling times. I have my share and I think he has his, I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel over things as strong as I do. Probably too much and I didn't make you feel any better.
