I so agree; people get on my case because I buy my kids (in their early 30's), gift cards. I even ask what stores/sites, they want a card, from. They are so busy taking care of house payments, bills, groceries, etc. that I Like being able to let them choose something from their own Amazon 'cart/wish list', go eat a meal at a spot they have wanted to try, etc. They will set things like that, aside, To take care of every day bills, so giving them the chance to choose a 'splurge' , works well. I do package the card with a small gift I know they like, which makes it more festive/package-y.
