I'm wondering as o get older and with my spine I can't bend over as easy as I use too . So why do we make kitchen cabinets all down low ? I'm looking at something to help me . I have the space for these .

@Rocklady2020 : I would do the one with the doors. I might order one for my laundry room. I like it

I have commented on the height of counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms for years. I am 6'1". I have to bend over all the time while working in the kitchen. After less than a hour prepping a meal, my back is killing me. Why are the counters so low?

@Rocklady2020 : DH has back issue so we have moved pots/pans from the bottom cabinets to the upper shelf in the pantry. Next house will have a big pantry to store our stuff so he doesn't have to bend over. His back also hurts if he's on his feet too long.

@Rocklady2020 :
We had metal pull-outs installed in all our lower cabinets. They work kinda like a drawer, they're just behind the cabinet door.

@Rocklady@Airborne319: I'm very sorry about your spine & back problems. Sounds like Hell to endure that every day!

A neighbor was 6'2" & she didn't want to raise her countertops because she thought it would affect future resale of her house. So she bought super squishy floor mats to stand on while in the kitchen & said they helped somewhat.
Look for them on Amazon.

I like the cabinet .with the doors, too & that's a good price.

@Rocklady2020 : When we do the kitchen remodel the lower cabinets will have drawers instead of doors. I think being able to pull out the drawers to access stuff will make it easier.

@Rocklady2020 :
I want to go live in the series on PBS Downton Abby. Of course I would be the wealthy and never even know what the kitchen would look like.

@Airborne319 : I am only 5'8" and I find the counter to be to low. I can imagine it is awful for you. If you can ever do a remodel you should make the counters higher to suit you. I find the bathroom counters even worse. I will make all of mine higher.

@Rocklady2020 :
Those look very nice. I just moved my plates from the middle shelf down one last week as I was thinking the same.

@Rocklady2020: I'm so very sorry about that numbness! That's not fair at all & I hope the new mats to stand on will help.

Actually, they're very good for everyone who stands a lot in the kitchen or bathroom.

Best wishes!
