@CBP210: I'm a republican. I have a duty to make money and pay taxes. I have tons of don'ts and won'ts that I am apparently expected to support while they sit on their GD ***es.

Thank u both for your input.. Us coon-**** call them crawfish holes but I think it's cute when u called it crayfish! But no, not crawfish holes.. the holes lack the mud towers above the ground.

I know Kingwood is Squirrel Central, are all Kingwood squirrels considered ground squirrels? In all my years in Kingwood in the yards of the four houses we've had over the years, I've never seen holes like this, so many, so concentrated together.. And they seem to have appeared in just a matter of days..

I am totally unfamiliar w/a Norway Rat, will have to do some Googling tonight..

@mayorofnothing:  Most squirrels in Kingwood are tree squirrels vs ground squirrels/chipmunks.  Even tree squirrels like to bury nuts/acorns in the ground.  However, those holes look like squirrels may have dug up their nuts/acorns.  If it's not squirrels, then I have no idea of the critter that caused those holes.

Have about 15 holes like this in a 12 x 15 ft patch of yard..they are about the length & diameter of a regular size Red Bull Can..

The ground is not soft as it seems to get when moles are tunneling under your yard, plus compared to the last mole experience I had..there are way more holes in a much more concentrated area..

Anyone have any ideas what's making them?

@mayorofnothing:

We have them too and cannot figure it out! It must be a small animal in the ground though bc our dogs have dug up half our yard trying to get to it.

If indeed it's squirrels retrieving nuts, either they misplaced several or they're having a feast! 4951

Send the photo to an exterminator or someone at Jesse Jones Park & perhaps they can solve the mystery. 4951

Set up a trail cam in the area and look at what comes by. 4951
