@Txbutterfly : Many companies will not allow the employees to confront a shoplifter. There have been people fired for doing so.... which in my opinion is crazy. I guess they in the end want to keep there employees safe. 4951

I just really do not understand that mentality. If I ever stole something, I would feel so incredibly guilty. Some people today think they have a right to steal. 4951

@GoldenGirl : That is true! It's been like that for ages. When I worked in retail, it used to drive me nuts knowing that people stole crap all the time & we couldn't do anything about it. I was told to call mall security & have them handle it. Some of the larger department stores have "theft loss" worked into their annual budgets & would not go after one-offs. They usually work with the local police to bust rings of people who steal. 4951

I was at wally world and saw a guy come into the garden dept with a basket full of electronics. Told the lady clerk that guy is about to steal your ****. She did nothing and gave me the dumbest *** look. Sure enough runs out emergency door with stuff to his car set off alarms she does nothing and walks out of the garden dept manager comes running I tell him your employee walked away and thats the guy pulling up with his car to leave. (I watched him go to his car) manager got his license plate and hopefully everything on camera . I swear that lady let it happen on purpose like it was planned.

@e : She must know the good guy is now the bad guy. With how I have been seeing employees lose their jobs lately trying to help the company I would probably do the same. 4951

@GoldenGirl : When I was 16, the grocery store I was a sacker at would cash personal checks. The manager would yell "Get em!" whenever he had someone trying to cash a hot check. All us sackers would tackle the guy as they tried running out the store, some full grown bikers put up a good fight. Times have changed😝 4951
