I am not even tempted! I asked myself this year, when did we get to the point that we think our homes need to look like a department store for the holidays and change of seasons? It didn't used to be that way. People didn't consumerize their homes to the max.
So my mission for the new year is to par down and simplify--my home, my mind, my body and spirit. I have already started and it feels good. Somewhere along the line I think I must have developed some borderline hoarding tendencies. But today I pared down my Christmas decorations big time and am going for the "less is more" philosophy from here on.
It felt so good to fill those donation boxes that I have decided to apply that to the rest of my home as well. It's going to be very liberating for me.
