Come on, cut it out.  It's not good for the forums.
Keep KDC Friendly.

@KingwoodDotCom:   Please don't put this one on me.  I am entitled to my opinion without rude or degrading comments from other posters.  I have never once directed my comments toward a specific individual until I was provoked multiple times. I have only voiced my objection on this subject.

So are the rest of us. I don't believe I've been rude whatsoever. I've simply tried to be honest & helpful. I'm sorry the rest of you are so upset about this but making disparaging comments about my church doesn't help anyone.

My point in even mentioning it was that he had ZERO to gain from lying in a casual conversation about his car hobby at a luncheon that just happened to be in a church. No one he was speaking to had any power over the project or even cared to. I never insinuated he was a better person than you or I. 4951

@KingwoodDotCom: Really? I've seen far worse and no actions from you in the past! If someone gets that worked up over simple words then you or I can't help that!

Seems the majority agree here. I guess all we can do at this point is wait it out and hope it turns into something decent. It's definitely not looking that way though!

Just because it has a metal frame and large does not mean it will not be nice looking.  If the person is willing perhaps they could show elevation drawings of what it will look like.  If it looks nice I think allowing some homeowners to add things like this would allow for some uniqueness to the home and neighborhood in general.  Hopefully the HOA did not approve something ugly.  Just my opinion for what it is worth.      4951

Homeowners buy in BBV knowing that deed restrictions in place will preserve property values.  This industrial building ruins that.  I don't agree with hlh212.  Allowing homeowners to add buildings WILL NOT add to the uniqueness of BBV.  Move to the country. 4951

@kerrys: Totally agree! We ride our bikes and one of the routes take us through Roman Forest. I have seen outbuildings like that there- they look ok there- but the lots are huge and that makes a difference. The lots here in Kingwood and that building looks out of place. If the homeowner wants to store and work on his cars- great- either pay to store them or move out to the country and build. I am sure there are many of us here who would love the conviennce of having a building on our lot to store our boats and RVs and special cars. Not sure how this got approved

@Jpgurl:

I am not saying this is the case here, but it is completely possible to make the outside of the new construction look like the rest of the house, despite the steel frame. In other words, it may not look like the steel outbuildings we are familiar with. Or, maybe it will. 4951

He had to have submitted showing what the final project would look like...   Drive by KSA and ask to see what was submitted.  Or go to the next board meeting and ask... It may actually look good once finished, however I agree the way it looks now is alarming...   I bet it will be beautiful when done... 4951

The homeowners jumped through all necessary hoops. If a neighbor doesn't like the looks of it, oh well. No one is guaranteed that they will never dislike a feature on any random neighborhood house. Blame the HOA, not someone who went through the specified process in good faith. 4951

@HollyHobbyI agree with what you said. It's the HOA people need to be talking to. The owner of the house did his part, HOA approved it.  4951

I disagree. The homeowner did not consider the aesthetics of the neighborhood. He only thought of what he wanted and the ACC/BOD failed the residents by approving the structure. 4951

I believe one of the original posters asked about the building and its final outcome and posted the "stock" answer they received from the HOA. I am sure the  owner did everything in good faith, no one is questioning that, I think the questions are how/why the HOA approved something like this when it is specifically against the deed restrictions and is obviously too large for the area.. I will have to say if you don't ask you usually don't get, however since I purchased property with specific deed restrictions and agreed to the restrictions upon the purchase I most likely would not even have asked to build something like this.   4951
