I don't mind paying more for organic pasture raised eggs. They are still a bargain considering its a protein source. I mainly buy fresh eggs these days direct from the farm and they are about $6 a dozen, but so worth it. 4951

@Reivax : Went to HEB Monday bought some eggs cost around $2.00 a dozen so are some people buying fancy eggs. 4951

I'm more worried about their overpriced Asian Seafood. Why in the hell would anyone want Shrimp from Asia when they fish it here? Why can't HEB get seafood from US ports cannot possibly be more expensive than shipping from Malaysia or Honk Kong.

@chasinghosts : I get wild caughT shrimp from the gulf in the frozen section section at HEB already peeled too. I always flip the bag in shrimp too, no farm shrimp for me at home ðŸ 4951

HEB IS THE ONLY STORE THAT GETS NEARLY ALL THEIR FOOD IN TEXAS. I have been to the ranch where they get their meat and is in San Antonio. I'm sure the people who supply the eggs have gone up because of their cost. 4951

@Reivax : I was going to comment today on the price of eggs at HEB... over $6 when Kroger has them for less than $2. So this is a very timely post. 4951

I went to Kroger on W Lake Houston 2 days ago and paid .99 each for medium avocados. Today after Blue Angel's I went into the one on 59 and the same avocados were 3/$5!

I am about to use two H-E-B eggs to make a mad batch of my fried zucchini.

Wash and slice zucchini
Dredge in flour
Dip in egg
Coat with Italian bread crumbs
Fry
Sprinkle with Parmesan
Serve with ranch, lovingly, to my husband, who will be returning from a tough day at the office.
