When I saw more and more products (mayo, smart balance butter spread, etc.) being mixed with Olive Oil, I started buying those. I mean, really, I know mayo and butter spread aren't the pillars of healthy eating, but used in moderation, they can be fine. The EVOO just adds a better flavor to it, and might help cut down on the bad fats typically found in those products.

If we grill anything in a pan, we add a dash (1-2 T.) of EVOO or avocado oil to the pan. Butter spread is usually for breakfast items (eggs, toast, bagel, grilled cheese).

@Maver1ck : Actually it's from Spain. So simple. So delicious.

Aldi's sells evoo made in Texas. I like the flavor.

@Kaa054 : We buy that one sometimes too. It's good. I think the big metal jug of Spanish oil from HEB is a slightly better price, if you go through olive oil as fast as we do.

@Maver1ck :
1/2 to 1 tbsp with the juice of 1/2 lemon in the mornings is also a good habit

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I can't believe that's what was used by so many people, back in the day, when we were kids. Just the thought of Crisco fried chicken makes me cringe. I know it happened, because I saw it, and saw all of the commercials for it. Compared to today's standards, it's just mind-blowing.

@donnatella : It was the same in my family. The only thing I use Crisco for is pie crust. I have not changed the oil ingredient because I am pretty sure it will not turn out to be flaky tender crust if I do. We have pie so seldom, I don't think it will hurt us.
