I love my flannel shirts. I had one that I wore holes in and still wore it because it was super soft. Of course I'd roll the sleeves but honestly it takes a decade or so to break in a great flannel. I also like a quilted flannel rather than a heavy coat. I have a flannel nightgown with a hood. I immediately become overheated and I have it in a box to give away. My dh suggested I pack it away in case of another bad winter. I'm on the fence because it really is very hot wearing it. I think flannel is sexy. Lol
