@HollyHobby : I know the church has changed names like 3 or 4 x already over the years. I think so but I have known it to be 1st Baptist for many years. There was a board & they voted on this. 4951
I doubt that my great grandmother would approve though. I remember she once caused quite the storm at her retirement home by responding when the pastor at the non-denominational service asked if anyone had a hymn they'd like to sing with: "I'm a Baptist, I'm a Baptist, Hear me Cry, when old man death comes knocking on my door, I'll be a Baptist when I die". 4951
I like all The new changes. They have made a great effort for the youth to have more impute & give more to our youth. That is what I'm leaning towards bc of my kids. They took out the choir using more of a band that I love right now. Songs more from ksbj. 4951
Quite a few churches are doing this in lots of places. Don't want the name to define who they are because of someone's past experience, attitude, fears, etc. Interesting concept. 4951

@FLUFFYCAKES : So are they trying to trick new people into coming? Are they embarrassed to be Baptists? I just don't get it. It blows my mind that a church that follows Baptist doctrine finds its detrimental to acknowledge that they're a Baptist church. 4951
