I remember having only about 2 of those in all my life, so they are not that common! I have cracked a Lot of eggs, in my day, too.

I get a double yolk every now and then. Mostly from fresh eggs.

Double yolk egg. How rare are they? I got one this morning. I eat a couple eggs every morning for the past few years and this is the first one I've gotten. The pic is of 2 eggs

I buy the jumbo eggs from Kroger. They have had double yolks many times.

@ZMAN: I have a friend with a poultry farm
and every now and the he stops by with a few dozen fresh double yolk eggs for me. They're super fresh and tasty as hell.

We always buy jumbo eggs and double yolks are pretty common

@ZMAN : I am not sure how this is possible but there is a restaurant in Aldine that my husband and his friend used to go to and every egg every time was a dbl yolk.
