Dodge Ram Owners You're Number #1😄

@jrjtex : It seems like the per thousand drivers doesn't take into account that there are a lot of rams (and F-150's) on the road.

Ram driver here! Only one fender bender in almost 20 years, and it was a tow truck who lost control and slid into me during an ice storm.

I do too. A 2012 rogue and it has since September needed a new transmission at $5000 and tomorrow it goes in for a major brake repair of $3000 roughly. I will not be buying another Nissan. This one only has 125,000 on it. That was a hefty down on a new car. I am not sure what I'll be buying this round. Car show at the end of the month will narrow it down.

If I had to replace my Ram 1500 Laramie with the Hemi right now, it would be at least $75k. I am not paying that for a truck, so I'll be keeping mine for another 6-8 years.

I want to go to the car show, too! I want to see them all in one spot. I think it starts on the 24th.

Unfortunately the Nissan automaker has slipped in reliability this last decade or more. We had 2000 Infiniti and put 260K miles and was still going.

Yes and I'm gonna roll around and look at dealerships beforehand, do the research on last year's used. The depreciation is only on our end. My dh took his near perfect car to a carmax lot and they offered him $5000. There was one sitting right there that was identical and they were asking $16,000. Headed, what makes mine worthless and your's near 20 grand. The dude had no answer. I could sell it for $16,000 myself, no need to lowball my ***.
So that will be brought up.
I looked at a Chevy van, said should run 250,000 to 350,000 miles. Fine print says 3 year, 36,000 mile drive train warranty. Something is off there.
Even those Cummings engines people push a million mile motor. Okay, what about the other parts? Oh 36,000 miles. Lol my car wasn't even at that in seven years. Granted I was waiting to travel as we semi retired but I should get more than 125,000 miles before I need to drop near $8,000 on tyranny and brake master cylinder.

@beadweaver: I have been looking for a year. It has to be my dream car to pay the prices they are getting , My husband bought a 2023 Yukon last January when there were no deals because I suggested he get one for the ease of going to the beach with the dogs. He hates it and wants a truck back but with 90K on it, it is a hard trade. He now wants me to take it and I have never driven a car with that milage! Since I really don't travel any more alone I may take it. I've had custom vans bigger but I was a lot younger and the traffic wasn't insane.

@Jellybeaner :
I was surprised that no Nissans were listed. Just the Altima alone would carry the "incidents" btw I have a Nissan as well. 🙂

@jrjtex: With paper tags.

I'm surprised Subaru is number 3. From my personal observations BMW should be #1 and Lexus #2 with any lifted pickup #3

@Labslady : Hmmm interesting. Just curious….what is the basis for your assessment? We currently have a Lexus and have had Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Town Car, etc

@jrjtex: I will never buy a Nissan. I used to rent cars every week when I was traveling for work. The Nissans (usually Altimas) always had problems. With 4k miles. I know renters are hard on cars but I'll never buy one.

@Kittle :
Just personal observation both in Kingwood- but esp here in Gilbert. The Beamers and Lexus drivers are fast and erratic. The pick up drivers are more polite here than in Kingwood. There are a ton of farms and ranchettes here so a lot of pick ups that get used in agriculture so maybe that makes them less aggressive - IDK 🤷🏼‍♂️.
Of course i think driving in Kingwood vs Driving here is totally different . All of the main thorough fares are 3 lanes each way plus turn lanes whereas we know how getting in and out of Kingwood goes

@ladybeachbum :
I'd love a little sports car, muscle car but everything is so big and I like to see lol. I want a van to trip out for travel but our travel comfort. I haven't found one that doesn't feel plastic, cheap and I can't see over the hump in the dash. I'd love to have a truck again. I had my little red frontier I bought to support my home and garden decor business. I needed a way to distribute my catalogs so I bought the truck and subcontracted myself as a hotshot driver and that was built in clients at auto shops, private car collectors, and their friends. Plus I got a gas bonus. I ran 500 miles a day all over Phoenix and the fancy foothills dropping parts and my catalogs. I kept that truck for 12 years and they were shocked at how new everything still looked. I even just did engine work, new tires, headliner and visors. They, the dealership, thought I even put new carpet in. My dh lol said no, nobody puts muddy shoes in her truck and the bed looked great too. Never a liner. Just car for the investment of my dollars.
I like to buy things and have them for several decades and still have them look new. Lol it bugs my dh.
