@ZMAN : Good for you…in my opinion….people should check out an establishment before passing judgement….funny remembrance….I've lived here 16 years…but before that I would visit my son every winter…& there was this screaming , guy on tv news (maybe ch 2)…he did investigative stories & fixed their problems…..he yelled & screamed …but…apparently houston loved him…..we need to be kinder…again, just my opinion…no judgement….

@yodacat : you should have seen Mattress Mac back when he was getting started b in the 70s and 80s, jumping up and down wearing mattresses, holding up monopoly money

@asasolid2r : I remember Mattress Mac back when he was young, jumping up and down and hollering loud...Save You Money! I thought Marvin Z was a hoot with his slime in the ice machine reports. He did make the chicken ranch famous and we got a play and movie out of that.

@Scubdog : LOL, It really is my home office where I work during the day, but I like to chill in here in the evenings and watch TV so I have a recliner for that.

I used to go to Deerbrook all the time. Loved it back when they had Luby's in the mall. Shopping and lunch was a great Saturday. Mostly the store comes to me these days via Amazon, Walmart, Macys etc. Fed Ex and UPS make it too easy.

@yodacat : she's doing ok, I'm just missing the whole point of dogging on the mall. I've been going there for 2 decades and it doesn't seem to have changed that much other than some different tenants and a much harsher operating environment for the owner.

@RaggedyAnn : yep, Marvin was famous for the Chicken Ranch and Slime in the Ice Machine, but he really helped many charitable causes as well.

@asasolid2r : Yes. I remember when he would twirl. Then he showed off his plastic surgery....even showed it as it was done. Very honest about that.

I rarely go to deerbrook mall since we had an incident a few years ago with my daughter. I brought her and her middle school friends to a movie - we got out after the mall closed. I was walking ahead of them to give them some autonomy… and a group of aged 20 something women approached them from one of two mini vans parked really close together. The other mini van had a group of men. Nobody else was in the parking lot. They were very complementary to them - it was very weird. I turned around - gave them a death glare and let them know I was with them - and they immediately backed off. Also right then a mall security officer drove by… they quickly got into their minivans and drove off. As a female -we have to be a lot more careful then men at malls and other similar places. We have to listen to our intuition and assume the worst in order to stay safe.
