Cotton candy grapes
I picked up some of those at H-E-B today. Has anyone had them? I haven't bought them in a few years. The ones I got really do taste like cotton candy. When I opened the bag it's smelled just like cotton candy. They are pricey though. About five bucks a pound. I dug around and found a small bag. I love freezing them for an afternoon summertime treat. 4951

I haven't tried them yet because the price. Are they worth it? Usually half the grapes I buy go to waste because I forget about them. 4951

@gigem09 : I think they are worth it for a splurge. I just wanted a small bag. If there are too many in a bag just take some out and put it in another bag. That's what the produce guy told me to do. They are sold by weight. 4951

@NeverPayRetail : Oh wow I have never seen them for sale at Costco. I was just there yesterday and didn't see them. They are pretty good. Wonder if they would be a better deal at Costco. 4951

@Weathergirl5 : Are they back? Which HEB? We don't like regular grapes over here and I haven't been able to find those since early summer. 4951

@eighteen : Yes they had them at the HEB at Kingwood Drive in W. Lake Houston Parkway this morning. They had a good selection of them. I'm thinking about going back and buying some more. As you can see I got a really small amount because I wanted to make sure they really did taste like I'm candy. A few years ago when I tried them they were hit or miss. Some tasted like cotton candy and some just like regular grapes. So far all of these have tasted like cotton candy. 4951

@Weathergirl5 : I always buy two bags to store in a gallon baggie at home. They go pretty quickly, lol. 4951

@eighteen : Do they last a while in the refrigerator? I don't buy grapes often so I'm not sure how long they really last. It's just me that would be eating them so I wasn't sure I could eat a whole bag before they went bad. I do like to freeze them though so maybe I could just freeze some for a later time. Usually when I freeze them it's for the next day so they don't stay frozen long. I'm afraid they might get tough skins if they stay frozen too long. 4951

I didn't like them.

@WTF : I may not either. I'm not a big fan of cotton candy. I like the red and black ones. 4951

@Weathergirl5 : I don't buy grapes often enough to know how long they're supposed to last. We go through the cotton candy grapes pretty quickly however. I used to buy grapes and store them in the freezer as well. I don't bother with regular grapes anymore, lol. I only did this time because they were eating the other grapes so well, but they just don't eat regular grapes the same, lol. Never have, even before introducing the cotton candy grapes. 4951
