@Annie : I use my biscuit recipe. 2 cups self rising flour, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, 3/4 cup of buttermilk and salt to taste. Instead of rolling out the dough, cutting and baking them I just pinch and roll the dough to however big a want my dumplings and plop them into my soup. Super easy and you can always double or triple the recipe if you want more.
It's interesting reading comments as everyone has their own unique dumpling recipe. It's the same with dressing. For dumplings I make a simple dough. Roll out thin, and cut it into rectangular dumplings. Dressing is cornbread dressing .
