My Champion chihuahua has made the Top Twenty AKC Breed Ranking for 2020 and is being honored by the Chihuahua Club of America. So very proud of "Star"

@Brat : "Star" was bred by me and is the product of many generations of responsible breeding to the chihuahua breed standards. I am a Breeder of Merit with the AKC which means I have bred many many AKC champions and promoted responsible dog breeding and the chihuahua breed...also member of the Chihuahua Club of America. I also do Rescue not just chihuahuas...AKC breeders were the first rescues and AKC registrations contribute to the many programs that benefit dogs...also disaster relief, genetic research, ect. 4951

I bought my daughter after Ike because I wanted a purebred Chihuahua. I could've sent the papers to AKC, but I didn't.

I love her to death, but after working at a kennel and seeing the endless love from rescues and fosters. I just can't fathom the idea of buying another dog. I think it's stupid.

Adoptions are soich more valuable. 4951

@doddlebug : your Star is what the AKC was created for. But I understand why people think the way they do..my Abbi, aka the abomination, and her MANY offspring are also AKC registered..her "breeder" dumped her but not before many bought her puppies, she has no teeth, her bones and skeleton are horribly disfigured. She is incredibly sweet.. Abbi should have never been bred, but she was..you are doing a good thing @doddlebug 4951

@Brat : I know there is a difference in buying just an AKC dog and buying one from a breeder like doddlebug seems to be. She seems to breed for the love of the type of dog, to improve the breed, not for cash at a flea market. 4951

What an adorable picture. Congrats to your pup! We found an abandoned chihuahua at a park about 8 years ago and kept her (never found the owners). She was so sweet but passed away unexpectedly last year. We hope to have another chihuahua one day. 4951

@Brat : They all need homes....if money changes hands, which it does with rescues also, then you bought a dog. Everyone can choose where they wish to purchase their next fur baby. 4951
