CenterPoint outage map: the numbers have been getting worse instead of better?? Is this just a glitch?

The outages I think refer to verified equipment or sources of power loss vs. Customers affected. In the assessments, I am sure they are finding the problems. The customers affected have dropped from 2.2 million down to 1.45. Earlier today it was 1.75, so it is coming down.

They have to turn the power off to the lines in order to assess and repair so that might be reflected in the rising numbers

All power lines in the Gulf Coast area should be underground. Blows my mind how antiquated it is.
That and the amount of gas stations that don't have backup generators.

Didn't have this problem in Alicia that hurricane banged we also had straight up HL and P. Those guys loved line work and their job

Totally agree. Especially in an area that is pretty forested…I guess some numb nut thought running lines through trees was a fine idea..these are power lines hanging right now after Beryl on Woodland Hills in Trailwood Village
