@peppermintstick : Yes, well you know me. I always use my newly learned skills towards some project or another. I am thinking this year to make ribbon that cascades through my Christmas tree that says "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace." I think using Calligraphy would be very pretty. I have already used Calligraphy in labeling my a pets beds. But I did that before I renewed my skills in Calligraphy, so it's a bit rough, and technically it's actually faux Calligraphy. Faux Calligraphy is when you are writing on a surface like a mirror or glass or chalkboard or something smooth where you don't have pens that will work on that surface. You have to write the letters with a monotype pen, in other words, not a brush pen, and then fill in the shading of Calligraphy.

@BrendaT : If the initials didn't give it away, the sign face sure did!

@BrendaT: That ribbon sounds awesome.

@SandyKnee : If you're talking about the practice sheet she is holding up, those are strokes not initials. Calligraphy works for bad handwriters because it is not handwriting. It is made up of a series of about 8-9 strokes that you learn and those strokes form each letter in the alphabet.

@peppermintstick : Actually, I did it years ago, once before, when I was decorating my mantle, But I did it in normal handwriting. I wove the ribbon through the greenery on my mantle. I don't know what happened to that mantle ribbon, so I'm going to make a new one in a different color.

@BrendaT : So glad you had a good time. I don't think I would have enough patience to do this. I may have mentioned it before, but Eric would write me letters with different styles of hand writing all-the-time when he was over seas. I'm not sure if Hagen would be interested...well, I know he wouldn't with a bunch of ladies, but he may like the idea. I think Ella still needs to concentrate on perfecting her everyday penmanship. I actually find myself taking the time to write better after doing this, although they are not related. Handwriting is one continuous motion of writing letters and words.
