@beadweaver : Some tenants don't care. I had two landlords tell me I left the places in better shape when I moved out than when I moved in. Thing is if you keep it clean there isn't much to do when you move out. Not rocket science. Well for most anyway.

@Nusiance : I agree, we were poor but clean. I grew up near the San Jac and the river bottom folks lived like the pictures posted, and not too ft from where we live now. When it would flood, one family came to our general store to buy air fresheners. My mom said, I'll sell you pine sol to clean with, but not air fresheners (they bought on credit until their government $ came in).
It was a generational form of ignorance. I'm not sure how else to explain it. The kids went to school until they either quit or ran away. Sad way of life for sure.

@Nusiance : If you hear a banjo its time to go. Can you squeal like a pig? Not a good place to practice that at night anyway.

@Ruger5 : It's the way it is in the country there. You give zero cares about the appearance of your property. But most have hearts of gold and believe in God, family and freedom.

"filthy" is one thing, trashy is another. Not all places have trash service to homes - there they usually have to haul stuff to the dump or perhaps there are bins at designated places in the county.
