Arctic Cold Front to Bring Widespread Freeze in Texas
From The Porter Fire Department:
Weather update for next week as of this evening:
A strong arctic cold front is to sweep across Texas late Sunday and into early Monday.
While there remains uncertainty on how cold temperatures will fall, there is enough guidance agreement that a widespread freeze and hard freeze (24F or lower for 2 hrs) is looking increasingly likely over SE Texas with even colder conditions over N and C Texas.
Temperatures Tuesday morning north of I-10, may reach into the upper 10’s.
Temperatures of this level will require cold weather preparations. Those that need longer lead times for winterization efforts should begin this process. All cold weather preparations will need to be completed by Sunday.
There is a low end a chance of winter precipitation behind the front on Monday over parts of the area…but what if any impacts are highly uncertain at this time.
Forecast changes are certain over the next few days, so stay up to date on forecasts!
Below are the probabilities of a freeze and hard freeze over the area early next week as well as forecasted low temperatures for next Tuesday.
