If so, do you like it better than your previous Suddenlink package with Suddenlink? 4951

Says upgrade for what you are currently paying? Would be nice to have but I see it costing more.

HA, you sent the fine print as I was typing... seems like it would increase my internet bill to over $100 per month? 4951

@Retired_Engineer :
I got Altice I guess, I'm noew to SL and that's what my receivers are. My honest opinion, so far, a day of having it, it sucks. 1st, you probably ready my earlier thread about the remote only that only works Altice and your TV, so you either have to use 2 remotes or spend $50 minimum (cheapest (and looks cheap) universal remote that works with Altice) up to $200 (nicer remotes that work with it). It's really really slow, press record and it takes you a while to get that handled, actually any task does, rewind, it takes a while, a good while, it only rewinded back 30 minutes (may be std SL-not sure as Comcast did and hr, and Direct does 2, won't record anything you've watched, or are infront of (either did CC but Direct did), big ole thick receiver.
I'll review as I watch, I just have a cpl hrs on and off as I just found my TV remote from unpacking and got the TV working (it was on External spkrs from the last real Cable Co I had, had to get the remote to turn that off to listen to SL). 4951

@cador : Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll stick with my TIVO until they improve Altice and make it worthwhile to switch. 4951

@Retired_Engineer :
A cpl more weeks and I hate it more.
Learned today that the TV receiver is an all in one, which sounds fancy till they come hook your phone up as your corded phone, your big one you normally keep in your office/kitchen etc, and goes right by your internet modem as it has a phone cord running to it, but with ALtice you have to hook your corded larger phone into the TV receiver. That means your corded phone gets set, well, I don't *****ing know where it going to get set now as it's on the floor currently (which looks real classy) as my entertainment center does NOT have a space for a telephone, does for TV. a few receivers etc, but no friggin telephone.
Still slow, when you get on DVR to record something, check what is recorded, etc, it takes you off TV until you clear out of it. Everything is a hassle, you gotta push a few button or the same a few times to get anywhere, it's a friggin hassle!!! 4951

Cost more and adds an additional point of failure if you record shows. 4951

@cador : How long are you stuck with the contract? 1 year or 2? Can you call and cancel within a certain amount of time without penalty?

We have DirectTV for TV watching and suddenlink for internet. Suddentlink Internet has been Okaaaay up until about a month ago when we started having outages. But our DirectTV has been consistently good except for when the rains come.

I would hate to be stuck with what you are describing for more than you have already suffered thru. It sounds AWFUL!!!!! 4951

@TexasOma :
That's the only good thing about SL, no contracts, leave when you want. The problem is I don't have a choice, chose one of the very apts that have an office where the patio normally is (I need the office so it is what it is) and you can't have Dish or Direct cause no where to put the Dish. I like Direct out of all them, by far.

I'd like to drop them too, but no viable option here. If you can get Dish or Direct, they are better and cheaper, imo, for TV, but you may be stuck with SL for internet. 4951
