Ruger5 : That's right, they gave people of color rights and let women have their own bank accounts. Crazy times.😜

@Heathur : Good times, bad times. As with every generation. Opportunities will never be so great again, imo. Hope I am wrong. Different world. Im a tad envious though in that self driving cars and domestic robots are a thing of the near future.

Heathur : Do you think generations to come will have the plentiful opportunities we boomers had? Very doubtful

@Ruger5 : I think they'll have different opportunities and they'll make some of their own. They have constantly advancing technology that they evolve with. To be honest, I think your generation gets so set in thinking that their way is the "best way" that they forget to grow and change. Your generation peaked when they stopped being physically strong, that is where your worth was as a generation. Future generations will continue to do great things because we value change, technology, and evolution.

@Heathur : Good points. Every generation will peak though as their time ends. As for myself, I am envious of the future generations……****** they gonna have self driving cars and domestic robots. Those that can afford them that is. How cool is that!

@Heathur : boomers instigated and went through and created one of the greatest times of innovation and creation. Almost everything we have now was off the backbone of what they did. Don't sell them short. Socially there may have been some issues, but as far as technologies, we can't beat them. They were incredibly forward thinking

@Ruger5 : Which is exactly why I wanted a Tesla until I found out that the autopilot feature isn't fully automated. Yet. I have faith in crazy Elon that he'll make it happen lol. Then I'm getting a Tesla.😁

Born in '46 makes one 77..

@BooBear : Good catch! The excerpt I quoted in my OP must have been written by another math-challenged individual. That just goes to show you cannot believe everything you find on the Net! It was the first one in my results, and it was WRONG!! Emoticon Here is USA Today's link with the correct ages of 77 and 59:

@BooBear : The big fat black eye on our generation was what we put blacks through. It has literally brought tears to my eyes.

@Ruger5 : A child learns what it is taught. I was never taught to treat anyone different for any reason, and I'm sure I was not alone. Good overcame evil slowly and unfortunately has been corrupted from within by certain ideologies to further conflict and division. I continue to believe that we are getting better and boomers had a huge hand in getting it all started. 🙏

@larpa : It is sometimes hard to realize you're getting old. I was recently at a graveside funeral. There weren't that many chairs and my brother and I took seats in the back. I turned to him and said "we can give up our seats if some older folks come". Thom reminded me that we are the old folks. Boomers both of us.

Just like millennials are 1981-1996, so the oldest are 42 years old and the youngest are 26, so when people blame the millennials for all the problems in the world, they are mostly blaming working people with 10 years working experience. 😆

@Heathur : My understandably dogmatic generation may be on the downward slide, just as nature provides, but don't discount us as peaked. (Get back to me when you turn 60 and see if you don't agree with me.) We have witnessed both highs and lows and benefited from the experience. Rights and wrongs, good and bad. We have seen a half a century+ worth and have rolled with the changes throughout. Just like upper classmen, we deserve respect and consideration for our achievements. We will bow out gracefully when our time comes. May God continue to bless all Americans.
