Great experience, very much enjoyed seeing your photos! I'm from Atlanta -- in my teenage years we climbed Stone Mountain many times. Hayrides took us to Stone Mountain where we often roasted marshmallows and made s'mores over an open fire before following the painted white line to climb up the mountain, flashlights in hand, to the top of Stone Mountain where we would sit under the fire ranger's tower with its spectacular view and tell scary stories. That was before commercialism took over Stone Mountain, before the railroad was put into place. Those truly were the "good old days."
@HappyHerself : That all sounds amazing & feels more special with Stranger Things bringing connection to the area for people of all ages 💛 I saw such a resemblance to Enchanted Rock, where I climbed many times in my Boy Scout youth in Kingwood Troop 1377 â¤ï¸ yet Stone Mountain is surrounded by a dense forest vs a vast prairie; they could be like distant cousins & will plan to climb Stone Mountain next time I visit; there is a lot to explore there from what I got to glance driving around 💚 It has a parallel to The Lonely Mountain in The Hobbit as well 🔠and the old tracks reminded me of the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor ✨ I really love Atlanta & live 6 hours away in Raleigh and often visit to explore 🧡 I bet the view of Atlanta is breathtakingly beautiful from up there 🌲🌳🌲
