My Adventure in Mirkwood from Stranger Things ðŸ’šðŸ’›ðŸ§¡ðŸ’›

Fall may be shy down in Kingwood, but you just have to get up to the latitude of Atlanta to start seeing amazing Autumn color âœ¨ðŸ‚â˜€ï¸ðŸ

What I experienced is beyond what I can comprehend, and this is one magical spirited forest! It's at Stone Mountain Park, and you may recognize the old railroad the kids from Stranger Things walked on deep within Hawkins Woods, where Will Byers calls Mirkwood, as inspired by The Hobbit ðŸ’šðŸ§¡ðŸ’›â¤ï¸

It was a perfect place to let my soul loose and practice my magical abilities, a mix of Kylo Ren and Eleven â¤ï¸âœ¨ðŸ’›âœ¨ I'm getting better all the time as I concentrate on meditating with the forest around me ðŸ‚ðŸâ˜€ï¸âœ¨

And what a vast vale of shadows this place isâ€¦ a truly inspiring woodland The Great Greenwood is ðŸ’šðŸ’›âœ¨ðŸ§¡â¤ï¸â˜€ï¸

The deeper I go, the spookier & more mysterious it getsâ€¦ ðŸ’šðŸ’›ðŸ§¡â¤ï¸ðŸ’œâœ¨âœ¨âœ¨

I froze taking this one, and this is why I chose to live in Raleigh, because of the vastness this forest is. Atlanta and Raleigh look nearly identical, yet my home is much smaller in population & even cooler than hereâ€¦

Stranger Things was filmed here, but home is the true Hawkins as it was meant to be ðŸ‚ðŸ’›ðŸðŸ§¡â˜€ï¸â¤ï¸ðŸ•¸ðŸ’šðŸ•·ðŸ’œðŸŒ¿ I'm so happy this place is only 6 hours away from home and consider beautiful Georgia just as part as the Carolinas! It's also the home of Chick-fil-A ðŸ’› and Coca-Cola â¤ï¸

As the sun slowly set behind the trees, the leaves really glossed with golden beauty, like they were on fire! ðŸ‚ðŸâœ¨ðŸ‚ðŸâœ¨ðŸ‚ðŸâœ¨

I even heard a animal cry far in the distance and saw what looked like a baby demogorgon slither near me that resembled Dart! ðŸ’šðŸ¦Ž

I began crying as I passed through the same areas as the kids, imagining my young childhood along with them exploring the Kingwood Greenbelts and imagining all of the ways the woodlands are alive! The trees, the animals, the wind and the light, and the darkness in the shadows hidden from view; all of it was like seeing The Force awakens that makes the miracle of life possibleâ€¦ We don't truly understand it, but I do feel it and love all it's amazing beauty God has given us âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨

When you add hills vs flat land, the forest really becomes a three dimensional Metaverse ðŸ’šðŸ’›ðŸ§¡â¤ï¸âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨

Real spiritual healing was happening as I continued, even though I'm likely being watched by creatures hidden in the shadows of The Upside Down ðŸ’™â¤ï¸

Great experience, very much enjoyed seeing your photos!

I'm from Atlanta -- in my teenage years we climbed Stone Mountain many times. Hayrides took us to Stone Mountain where we often roasted marshmallows and made s'mores over an open fire before following the painted white line to climb up the mountain, flashlights in hand, to the top of Stone Mountain where we would sit under the fire ranger's tower with its spectacular view and tell scary stories.

That was before commercialism took over Stone Mountain, before the railroad was put into place. Those truly were the "good old days."

I leave Mirkwood feeling more alive than when I came, bringing my cheerful spirit to Kingwood for the holidays âœ¨ðŸ’šâœ¨â¤ï¸

Stone Mountain itself reminds me a lot like Enchanted Rock ðŸª¨ðŸ˜‚ where I once saw a real mountain lion not far from us rawwwr!! ðŸ’›ðŸ¦ I called him the King of Enchanted Rock â˜€ï¸ And this place is The Enchanted Forest âœ¨ðŸŒ³â˜€ï¸ðŸŒ²âœ¨

On the way home, I see Mike's House in East Point and felt home again in Kingwood, as if it has basements & hills ðŸ’šðŸ§¡ Goodnight Hawkins, stay strange âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨âœ¨

@zacpizzy : Keep an eye out for Merlin and send us a pic of you levitating when you get a chance. Also check the wooden train ties for date tags. They'll be metal tags nailed in about every 10 or so that tells the year they were placed. ie. 34 would be 1934 .They started in 1897 and quit in 1970. You can pull them out with pliers and they're valuable to collectors.

@e : Yes it really is & need to watch TWD more too, as it has many of the same sites as ST. There's a theory Jonathan Byers grows up to be Daryl Dixon lol ðŸ’™â¤ï¸
