Montgomery County Interdiction Unit Stops Evading Driver After Long Chase
Early Saturday morning Montgomery County patrol and Criminal Interdiction Unit assisted Montgomery County Pct 4 Constables Office with a pursuit that was near US Highway 59 and FM 2090. During the chase the driver turned off all his lights (blacked out) and was able to gain distance on the pursing officers. Thier officers joined the pursuit at E River Dr, where the vehicle spun out and lost control. The driver was able to recover and then continued south on US Highway 59.
Reaching speeds up to 150mph, our CIU Units vehicles were the only vehicles who could stay with the evading vehicle. With the assistant from the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office, they were able to successfully spike the suspect vehicle. The driver still continued to drive at high rates of speed on 3 tires. During the chase the driver was seen throwing out what officers believed to be illegal narcotics out of the vehicle.
The chase continued all the way to downtown Houston near The Astros stadium - Minute Maid Park. Near the stadium the driver finally decided to pull over but then chose to evade on foot as well. K9 â€Kilo†was deployed and successfully apprehended the suspect to bring the chase to an end. The suspect was treated for his injuries and the suspect was turned over the Montgomery County Pct 4 custody.
