Interview with Lauren Cook, Owner of Celebrity Hair Styles - Kingwood

Lauren Cook, owner of Celebrity Hair Styles!

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer and how long have you been around?

Celebrity Hair Styles got their name when time and time again clients came to Lauren to help them recreate hair styles as seen on their favorite celebrities. Helping people of all ages feel their best and looking like a celebrity has carried this small family enterprise into their 9th year in business!

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
Owner/operator Lauren Cook got her Cosmetology license 33 years ago. Back then, as a single mom, she loved that making people look beautiful was a great way to spend her days and allowed her flexibilty and a means to provide for her son. As an independent operator, she started dreaming of a co-share space that could provide similar opportunities for other cosmetologists and aestheticians. Which brings

us to their Northpark location and celebrating their 3rd year (this December 2024) in this location with seven suites and three independent chairs. "It's great to see this space be able to provide so many additional beauty services and see people at work" says Lauren.

Tell us a couple of things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
Got a picture of that new hairstyle you want? Lauren prides herself on recreating those snapped hairstyles just for you. Others claim its her color and highlights while others just like the

ambiance and welcoming feel.

What is your favorite part of running this business?
Lauren enjoys seeing her regular customers and new folks walk in the door and leave looking their best. Seeing other people succeed is an added bonus.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?

Got hair? Celebrity can take care of all your hair needs starting with hair cuts, color, trim for men, women and children, extensions, waxing, eyelashes, electrolysis too. Additional services include spray tans, facials and nail services.

Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background?
Enter Celebrity Hair Styles and you'll be greeted by the coffee station and a comfortable waiting area. Smiling faces are there to take care of you and the suites offer closed door service for privacy. The sparkling chandeliers were hand-picked by Lauren for

the beautiful ambiance and elegance provided. As the owner, independent contractors appreciate that Lauren doesn't micromanage and offers a upscale, affordable space for them to build their own beauty brand.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
Lauren is a certified Kingwood Lone Star Cosmetology Advisory Board Member and also sits on the Board of the CHI School of Cosmetology.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?

"The Kingwood community continues to help support our team of skilled beauty providers and seeing them thrive allows us to serve and grow." Currently, there is one suite and one open station available to add to Celebrity's offerings. They look forward to celebrating the completion of the Northpark Drive construction which will allow greater ease for all clients present and future.
